To our Bio Page!

Kandi
My name is Kandi Newby. My internet friends know me as knd. I've been
scrapbooking for 4 or 5 years. My mom, LindaK, kept coming up with these
wonderful layouts that I just had to try my hand at it! I use Creative
Memories 12 X 12 albums. I've done an 8 X 10 ABC album for my son, and
am waiting for my daughter to turn 4 so I can start one for her!! I
love to make cards using dry embossing or brass stencil templates. I
use some stickers on my layouts. I don't really have a "style".
I just get ideas and go from there....and have no idea how the pages
will turn out!! LOL
I am a Special Education teacher, have 2 beautiful children, (Jace-7,
and Callie - 2), one wonderful husband, and a sheep farm to take care
of! Where do I find time to scrap?!?! Happy Scrapbooking!!
LindaK
My name is LindaK. I'm from Oklahoma and am a scrapbooker who loves
to chat! I got into scrapbooking because I developed an allergy to
the sun, which forced me to find an interesting indoor pursuit. I
have 3.5 grandkids, 3 of who are the subject of lots of my layouts and
the .5 has great potential! I've scrapped for about 2 years and have
about 9 to 10 albums. My style should probably be called "freestyle"
cause I like to do all kinds. I started out using CM products and
now use EVERYTHING I can find, even going so far as attending "The Second
National Scrapbooking Convention" in Arlington, Texas, to turbo shop and
meet my cyberpals, the Lovely Ladies of LOL, plus many more. Ain't
Life Grand? I appreciate the creativity of scrapbooking, because
you are limited only by your imagination, and the more you create, the
more ideas you generate, which is very exciting. So many ideas, so
little time!LOL. As an added bonus, all this fun, fascinating, creativity
results in a wonderful inheritance for my kids.
(They're not getting the albums 'til I'm through with them!) LOL!
Sara
My name is Sara, aka "Satie". I am from Northern California
and I am a scrapbooker who
loves to chat also! I have two grown children, Amy and Rich,
and one grandchild, Alex.
I also have 20 "other" children from my classroom! Yup, a teacher!
I started scrapbooking because a group of teachers were into this
"new" thing of putting paper and stickers on a page with ones photos! Not
wanting to be left out, I joined the group AND the addicted ones!
I use 12x12 albums and any and all materials I can find. A year ago
I had surgery on my foot and was "forced" to sit in front of the computer
for long periods of time<G>. While chatting one day, a person
needed scrapping materials so I said I would send them. Not a problem!
Thus was born "Sidelines" a scrapbooking store and website! I don't
get to scrap as much as I would like since the teaching, store and website
seem to take up time! I was lucky to have a friend to enter this
venture with me and share all the joys and problems! She tends to the realistic
one and I tend to act like a
kid in a candy store when the new products come out!
I must add also that our own Wendy designed Sidelines!
Thank you Wendy. You are great!
Wendy in CA
Hi! I am Wendy Watson, aka "Wendy in Ca". I live in
Modesto, California, home of Gallo Wine and American Graffiti!, with
my wonderful man named Dave, aka "Simba". We have no children of
our own, but I have four "step-grandchildren" from a previous marriage
that I share a strong bond with. My love for genealogy is actually
what got me into scrapbooking. I inherited all of my grandmother
and mother's pictures and knew I needed to preserve them properly.
The opportunity to work on these photos came last year when my job was
eliminated. Since I have been surfing the net for almost 6 years,
it was a natural to turn to it for information on how to preserve these
photos. The more I saw
(which wasn't much back then) about scrapbooking, the more I liked
it.
I have not been to any classes, nor have I "scrapped" with anyone.
I have just slowly developed a "simple" style (which I am still developing!).
I picked simple because I want my Heritage layouts,
which I haven't started on<g>, to be simple.
Lots Of Layouts came about because everytime we had a "page exchange"
or bragged about a layout, we would scan and send these layouts to our
"chatting buddies". We decided to put up a site so we could share
with everyone, not just ourselves! I am the "techie" behind the
site, but couldn't have done it without the help of my fellow chatters!
This was my first attempt at a website and it has been a learning experience.
Thank you for visiting our site and making it such a huge success!
Marla
My name is Marla Young. I was born and raised in Idaho, and now
live in Utah with my hubby Rick
and four children, Travis, Elise, Crystal, and Cassie. I am a
true scrapaholic, having scrapbooked for
four years. I have everything new that comes out to add to one's
scrapbook stash! I use a very
country rustic style with my scrapbooks, love to use patterned paper
and earth toned card stock.
"The
Scrappers' Cottage Book of Quotes, Captions, and Quips" is my pride
and joy. This book is
full of cute sayings which I usein my albums and wanted to share with
others. Top loading sheet protector style scrapbooks are my style of
choice and in between the two sheets I slip in a paper with
memories of the incidents happening on the pages. This takes the
place of a lot of journaling on the actual page itself. One of
my favorite quotes is...'The Footprints of a child, bring memories
of everything sweet, meek, and mild.'
Cherish those memories and get scrappin!
DeeDee
My name is Denise, aka "DeeDee". I am from West Hartford,
Connecticut and am a scrapbooker who loves to chat! I am a Stay
at Home Mom, with two boys, one almost6 and one almost 8. I have been
scrapbooking a little less than a year and it has taken over my life,
and my house,LOL! I prefer to use the 8.5 x 11 3 ring binder's
for my scrapbooking layouts. One of the advantages of this system
for me is the ability to work in the "Themes" as I discover them in
my box of photos. The reason I love scrapbooking so much is that
I am using the "crafter" side of me while creating memories for the
future! My thought for all is " have fun, take one layout at a
time, and don't be overly critical of your work….do not overwhelm yourself
with the size of the project!

Scrappin' Suzy
My name is Suzy, aka "Scrappin Suzy". I live in Fremont,
California(Mrs. Grossman's backyard!) with my husband Paul, my daughter
Angel, 9, and my son Jeremy, 3. I have been scrapping for a
little over 2.5 years now and have no specific style but enjoy experimenting
to improve my layouts. My favorite tools to use in my scrapbooks
are stamps, embossing tools, and clip art. Try using chalks
and watercolors! It gives a whole new look to those layouts!
Happy Scrapping !!!
